Bono 300x300 U2s Lead Singer Undergoes Emergency Back SurgeryBono, U2’s lead singer, had an emergency spinal surgery after suffering an injury while preparing for 360 Tour. The musician was treated at a specialist neurosurgery clinic in Munich and will be staying there for a couple of days. A spokesman said, that Bono will return back to his home in Ireland to recover. The band gave a statement on their official website u2.com:

“[Bono] was admitted to a specialist neuro surgery unit in a Munich hospital, and is under the care of neuro surgeon Prof. Dr. Jorg Tonn and Dr Muller Wohlfahrt. Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate. Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates.”

The Irish rock band’s next tour date in the US on June 3 was postponed. Paul McGuinness, U2 manager, said, “It’s unfortunate that we are inconveniencing fans.We will make plans to reinstate the dates as soon as possible.” He also stated , “Obviously it’s been very disruptive to our crew as well. We have over 400 people converging on Salt Lake City, and some of those have been turned around and told to stay at home until we make our new plan.”
