The Karate Kid ignites the box office with $19 million

No one was expecting that the flick, ‘The Karate Kid’ would ignite the box office and it did with the colossal collections from the screens all over. The Jade Smith starring remake has collected an estimated $19 million on Friday and is expected to reach $60 million this weekend. The box office results just surprised the moviegoers since everyone was expecting and looking forward ‘The A-Team’ to win the battle on Friday night but unexpectedly ‘The Karate Kid’ emerged triumphant and will snatch mammoth collections at the ticketing windows on weekend as well.
‘The A-Team’ (PG-13 rated) could not cross $10 million on Friday night by putting the weekend gross at $27 million. Made with the budget of $40 million with 2 hours and 20 minutes run time, ‘The Karate Kid’ has crushed the $100 million budgeted ‘The A-Team’ all the way.
The others in the top five lists include ‘Shrek Forever After’ ($4.5 million that might reach at $15 million), ‘Get Him to the Greek’ (collected $3.3 million and likely to get at $10 million) and ‘Killers’ ($2.8 million and could reach $8 million by the weekend).
‘The Karate Kid’ has instantly flashed all over the Internet making all the cine buffs to extract whatsoever information is available about the carnival that simply injected in every soul by mesmerizing all and sundry from tip to toe.
