The Boston Marathon 2010
The Ethiopian Merga Deribas and Kenyan Selina Kosgei, who won the Boston Marathon in 2009, will defend their titles Today in the 114th edition of the boston marathon 2010, which will bring together 25,000 runners.
The route of the boston marathon 2010 is starting in the neighborhood of Hopkinton and finish in Boston Harbor, was created in 1897 to remember hills dotted with the legendary route taken by Pheidippides from Marathon and Athens, and traditionally is held on Monday, Patriots Day, which marks the beginning of the American Revolution.
Merga will be the only winner in Boston this at the start of this year. Kenyan Robert Cheruiyot, four-time winner, caused through injury in early March.
The Moroccan Abderrahim Goumri, who has been second places in Chicago, New York and London, will start with a personal best (2h05: 30), one minute and 44 seconds below the record of Boston, Cheruiyot held.
The list of favorites also includes American Meb Keflezighi, who won in New York last year and runner-up medal in Athens 2004, and his compatriot Ryan Hall, who has a personal record of 2h06: 17.
The Ethiopian Chala Dechen, who beat Merga within 10 km of Addis Ababa in January and stood face to Haile Gebreselassie in the Dubai marathon can be one of the “covered.”
The women’s race, which will start 28 minutes before the male will Kosgei favorite, the winner in 2009, but will also be the two previous champions: the Ethiopian Dire Tune (2008) and Lidiya Grigoryeva of Russia (2007).
The list of rookies in Boston is headed by the Ethiopian Teyba Erkesso, a specialist in cross and a career-2h23: 53 that gave him the victory and the record for the Houston Marathon, just three months ago.
The organizers closed registration in November, just two months after opening, once it reached a cap of 25,000 runners. The boston marathon 2010, which passes through narrow streets in some areas, does not support a higher influx without causing security problems.
