 Thai Government Delayed Shutting Down Central BangkokBangkok, Thailand – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva gave the protesters in central Bangkok Ratchaprasong intersection an ultimatum to vacate the intersection until midnight of Wednesday or else they will cut off the supply around the place. But the government announced the postponement of the threat because they are still working on the possible effect of shutting down to area residents.

Protesters called Red Shirts or Red because of the color of the shirts they wear, will stay in the area as long as Prime Minister follows their demand of dissolving the lower house of the parliament and call new elections and warned the government that making harsh acts against them could lead to a blood shedding coup. They are the supporters of the ousted PM Thakshin Shinawatra in a coup in 2006.

Prime Minister Vejjajiva once mentioned that for the Red shirt to stop their protest, he will set a new date of election, but no further announce up to date.

Since the beginning of the protest, more done a dozen of civilians and police have died and two more Thai police over the weekend and eight more injured in the riot that started Friday night and ended Saturday morning.
