Those who admire him around the world give all their prayers for Bret Michaels, a longtime champion of diabetes research and awareness, who is fighting for his life after suffering a brain hemorrhage last Thursday night.

Former Poison front man Bret Michaels, the star of VH!’s Rock of Love and one of the best contender on the current season of NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice 3, is still in critical condition after being rushed to an undisclosed hospital Thursday night which was caused by a massive brain hemorrhage.

47 Year old Michaels who had suffered extreme headaches in the days before the hemorrhage, is under “intense observation,” as doctors perform tests to determine the cause of this subarachnoid hemorrhage or bleeding at the base of his brain stem,PEOPLE.com reports revealed. “It will be touch and go for the next couple of days while he is under strict observation,” a source told PEOPLE on Thursday.

Assigned Doctors are trying to determine if the hemorrhage was possibly the consequence of a recently performed emergency appendectomy, or complications from His’ Type 1 Diabetes, which has plagued him when he was still a child.

Other reports said that Michaels’ condition had improved in the days following the hemorrhage, his representative told PEOPLE.com Saturday, “There are a range of incorrect reports on Bret’s condition. He still remains in critical condition at an undisclosed location. Further tests are being run and information will be updated in the coming days.”
