Nagasaki Marks 65th Anniversary of U.S. Atomic Bomb Attack
It has been 65 years since U.S dropped atomic bomb on Japanese city Nagasaki during World War II. And Nagasaki marked this anniversary in the presence of 32 other countries but no one was present from United States. A moment of silence was observed at 11:02 a.m. 65 years ago, in United States dropped atomic bomb on the city at this time.
The first bomb by United States was dropped on Hiroshima and after three days Nagasaki was targeted. At least 80,000 people died after the bomb attack in Nagasaki and 140,000 people were ether died or killed in Hiroshima. Japan surrendered to U.S. on 15th of August and war ended. To observe this day, Nagasaki and Hiroshima mark this event every year.
When Hiroshima marked the anniversary, an ambassador from United States was sent as a delegate, but no one was present in Nagasaki. According to U.S Embassy in Tokyo, ambassador was on busy schedule so he was unable to attend the ceremony. Delegations from 32 countries were present at the event, including nuclear powers like Britain and France.
