Microsoft renames Project Natal to Kinect for Xbox 360 Slim Microsoft renames Project Natal to Kinect for Xbox 360 SlimMicrosoft is planning to resubmit its remote control system for Xbox 360 at E3 held in Los Angeles. The first development that has transpired, is changing its name to Kinect. The pioneer of this system was Nintendo with a wireless controller for its Wii console, which launched in 2006. Both Sony and Microsoft have announced replies to this offer, driven by the success of Nintendo, selling more than 28 million Wii consoles, while Sony has sold 20 million PlayStation 3 units and Microsoft Xbox 12.3 million.

Xbox 360 with four years on the market needs renovation. According to Microsoft, the controls are a barrier to the player and Microsoft plans to offer a simple system that does not come with complicated instructions. Kinect is based on the recognition of the voice and movements of the player.

Xbox 360 Slim also could be presented during E3, which would be compatible with Kinect and would include Wi-Fi and a 250GB hard drive.
