There is a good news for those who love eating. The new shop in La Verne would definitely give you a new dining experience. It is the Martha Henderson’s Sinfully Sweet Apple Company which is in the peak of its bloom. It was featured recently in the Food Network’s “Kids in a Candy Store.”

Co-Owner Cheryl Kling said that it was originally planned to just have a commercial kitchen space for catering only. Henderson started selling candy apples at the farmers market in Orange County last year when she was laid off. She said it was hard for her to get a job but she was brilliant enough to come up with an idea no one else though of such as making gourmet apples. She set aside working at the market when she was offered a managerial job at a biology lab at Caltech. She continued selling her sweet treats to her co-workers which eventually became normal in the office. She even made sweet candies for their Christmas Party and brought them in the office which made all her co-workers happy and very impressed with what she made. Kling was so impressed that she decided to put up a business with her.The two started to create and open the store when the company’s catering business took off. Although a lot said that they won’t be successful, they opened their first store at 2084 Foothill Blvd. on Oct. 15. They were able to get a lot of patrons who would drive all the way to Orange County to buy at their store. Now, the two are starting to expand their treats creating chocolate popcorn, cho-dipped marshmallows, cupcakes on a stick, cheesecake on a stick, pretzels and a lot more that people should look out for.
