Kathryn Bigelow Makes History at 82nd Academy Awards
Only god knows what Kathryn Bigelow might be feeling! But the whole world is celebrating this lady’s victory over the much anticipated James Cameron for the best director at the 82nd Academy Awards on Sunday Evening. She deserves all happiness because she has made history of being the first woman director to win this prestigious award, a dream of all notable directors. It seems Hollywood is really changing from male dominance and female counterparts are really getting their due!

On the eve of International Women’s Day nothing could be more celebrating moment for the sex when Bigelow was announced the best director for her tremendous job in ‘Hurt Locker.’ Women though were always extravagantly admired for their performance on screen at the Oscars but for the first time a woman stepped from behind the camera to take this honor. Never been before this a woman has been distinguished in such a way for her administrative and creative helm.
The Hurt Locker is itself a classic Oscar movie just like previous year’s win Slumdog Millionaire was and the conscious tipping point is that ‘HL’ is really a good movie and has been propelled by great reviews as well as its underdog status before the final evening. On the other hand the hugely box office behemoth that creative waves beforehand as the one that would really bag like Titanic few credits to its bag, was really disappointed. That is a good move to see that Oscars consider films really well!
