“Heroes” and “FlashForward” Cancelled
The television networks NBC and ABC announced today the cancellation of two of its big bets, the series “Heroes” and “FlashForward” due to a loss of interest among American viewers, reported media.
Both series generated much excitement when they appeared on the grid, getting good ratings and critical support, but the internal changes in production and scripts ended their solvency.
“Heroes” debuted in 2006 and became a hit for NBC both in the U.S. and internationally, to the point of becoming successful compared to “Lost” (ABC).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network had planned to end the series with its fourth season and close the frame with a final chapter of several hours, but because of the high costs and poor ratings, the chain opted to save that last delivery and lower the curtain on “Heroes.”
Less travel had “FlashForward,” a series that premiered in 2009 with the aspiration to be the heir to “Lost” on ABC, which has finally decided to delete it from the ABC program after one season, according to a publication in Variety.
ABC, however, did give the nod to the production of new episodes of the remake of “V“, which is currently finalizing the issuance of its first season in the U.S.

ABC is both Lost and hopeless. I will never give in and watch this network again. Same for supporting any of its sponsors.
Lame. Is it really worth it to cancel 2 good shows just because they’re slowing down? Do they really have to end it mid-season too? Seems like the fan-base for both these shows are pretty devoted.
I give up on Abc. Everytime I get into a new show they rip it from me and don’t allow a decent ending. I liked Eli Stone but they ended that prematurely and so they had a crappy ending. I thought Flashfoward would redeem them but instead of moving the days they cancelled it in it’s freshman year as well. With flash foward it had a tough spot, Thursdays my DVR uses all it’s tuners, recording multiple shows at once. Plus, doomed it with a super long break. Fall finales are a bad idea especially taking several months off, people forget and or loose interest as other shows swoop in and take these viewers. I haven’t gave V a chance but at this rate I don’t think I will because they’ll probably just cancell it. NBC is guilty too ( don’t get me started on journey man and life, they crapped those endings too,don’t think they even gave life a series fanale) I love my heroes but since that strike the story line just couldn’t get back on track. I just hope the give us good closer for each show but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I am very irritated with ABC. You finally find a show that you like, and then they take it away…I want to know the ending. I was going to purchase the book “Flash Forward”, however it is loosely based on the show and the reviews on Amazon are terrible. I guess we’ll never know….
I give up now go to ABC each time you start a series I am involved with the same disappointed to finish, not the crap to stop the EXTREME MAKAOVER which are becoming more and more people lose their homes after a long show, I are excited with the series THE INVASION and the Ys off knowing no more. It should not deceive but those who pay the cable or satellite service if we pay for these services you would not be anything more respect for customer.
ABC did everyone a favor. They canceled a horrible show called flash forward. Lost has no ending so and the fans are going to be disappointed. Please have a point when making these show. Everyone watch good TV like The Wire. Thank you

ABC is terrible. Just when you get hooked on a series, they take it out. In the meantime that “Lost” stupid series gets another season???
Since they will cancel Flash forward, I will stop watching it as of now. It is pointless. Eli Stone was going somewhere when they canceled it.
I also must point that viewers stop watching it when the writers get lost and start inserting “too impossible” things in it. The only series that can get away with it is that stupid show Supernatural on CW11.
When is ABC going to learn that long Fall/Winter breaks on complex shows is a KILLER? People lose interest, or forget important details, or just don’t know when the show comes back on.
They have done this to many shows I like, and it’s maddening.
And even though I have been watching V, if given the choice between V and Flashforward? The choice is clear. Flashforward is a better show.

I was really enjoying Flash Forward. I looked forward to it every week. So what happens now with Dmitri and Zoe and Mark and Olivia and Simon and Lloyd and Janet and the guy who just rescued his daughter from the Middle East? I am not a happy viewer at all!!! As for V, you can keep it. Not a good show at all. Geez, ABC, what’s the point of trying to watch something? At least you are letting the writers make an ending for Lost, although it will probably be a disappointment. I’m already disppointed at losing Sayid, Sun, and Jin.
ABC sucks. I loved FlashForward from the start and after it came back, it had me gasping for air in every episode. Unlike Lost it gave us twists, turns and misteries but instead of keeping us guessing for years , it paid off giving answers and solving plot points, not without giving more questions and mysteries to be solved in the next few weeks. They should at least give it a second season, I think this had the potential to be something bigger than it was allowed to be. Now that the world will catch up to the flashforward, it was a chance to break new ground. Hopefully, the last 2 episodes will at least answer the big questions of the series instead of, like most shows the networks decide to cancel with no regard for those who watch them, let them all hanging in mid-air and the viewers with the feeling they wasted 22 weeks for nothing.
If nothing else, networks or production companies should be obligated to end any canceled show with a proper ending.

I am very disappointed, but not surprised, that “Flash Forward” has been cancelled. It is probably too intelligent for the execs at ABC to understand the plot. The acting, directing, writing – all of it is excellent. Naturally, it must go! Please, for heaven’s sake, let’s keep the simple minded sitcoms on so everyone can keep up. gees! The good news is that now I only have one show to watch on ABC: “V”. I imagine it’ll go next.
I’ve got a story line for a new series, picture this: A big TV studio or group of studios are behind all the bad stuff going on in the world. They’re brainwashing people with ‘extreme-*’ style content, and causing blackouts, tidal waves,oil leaks, volcanoes just to get people to watch the incidental adverts. But each time the good guys get close to discovering the studios bad ways the studio ‘up sticks’ and move operations else-where, creating more boredum content. It would go on for years and years… timeless income from season to season.
It just might work ?
tbh – I didn’t watch Lost, but I did get into both Heroes and FlashForward. I wonder what the next will be… because I can’t take much more of watching my kids Disney Zack and Cody/Raven/Miley factory-style repeats.
Terrible move ABC….patience is a virtue, buzz would build if you gave your shows a chance. Flash Forward was becoming part of my weekly routine and that’s coming from a guy who only watches 3-5 hours of TV a week. You’ve lost this viewer for quiet some time.
was quite interested in a new series Flash Forward the 1st season here in Mexico through AXN. Fortunately, today I read the cancellation of the series, which motivates me to no longer follow the series in the remainder of the 1st Season. I am very irritated with ABC. AXN in Mexico should think better next time they decided to transmit another ABC Show.
Sooooo disappointed about Heroes & Flash Forward. OMG, PLEASE DON’T replace them with some reality crap show. Is this our future in TV? We live with reality, we don’t need to watch it on TV…We want fantasy, fiction, action, mystery and feel good shows! And the comedy sitcoms need some serious work…I don’t even watch them. Where are the writers who can create great stuff like, “I Love Lucy” or “Carol Burnett” or “Mash”? Geeeeezzzzz people!!!!!
I absolutely loved Flash Forward and it makes me very mad that ABC has cancelled yet another one of my favorite shows. What will they put in it’s place some stupid brain sucking sit com or “reality” show?
How pathetic… not all shows have top ratings…. but, they do have a loyal fane base. What will ABC Execs do just keep cancelling everything until they finally find that golden CASH cow that doesn’t exist?
Give the people a chance and let them vote on what they want to watch. Put out a survery or something. Don’t just go by stupid ratings… people have lives too. They don’t just sit around watching TV live for the ratings.
Please return Flash Forward for one more season!
Boo ABC & NBC! Who cares if reality TV has more viewers than real shows, it’s still garbage. FlashForward was great – probably on par with LOST (and not as cheesy). Networks suck

They did the samething with TheCleaner …an actual intelligent show that was not all about people having sex and had great acting!

V is horrible. Elizabeth Mitchell is just about the worst thing I’ve ever seen on screen. Why can’t they fix her ugly greasy, stringy, ishy fake blonde with nasty roots showing through hair? Why does she hold her mouth like she can’t move it? Why does she stick her lips out? Does she have some horrible piece of candy in there that she’s afraid of choking on? What’s with the botox? The stretched out look is a HUGE FAIL MS. MITCHELL!!!! And take some acting lessons!
Please. Get her off the air. Someone in my house insists on watching that show and I have to close my eyes when Mitchell is on. More Morena B. Less – in fact NO – Elizabeth Mitchell. Please.
FlashForward’s “Olivia” is almost equally as horrible. QUIT WITH THE WEIRD MOUTH BOTOX, Ladies! (And that includes you, Kate Walsh.) UGH.
And if it weren’t for that nasty Hayden P., I would have watched Heroes. She is THE SINGLE REASON why I could never get through even one episode. She is a huge phony who is full of herself. She should have stuck to print ads and never, ever, ever opened her mouth.
I’m so disappointed, I love FlashForward it is so intense and keeps you wondering about what was going to happen next. By far one of the best shows I’ve ever seen I guess people just want to watch mindless things like the Jersey Shore nowadays. ABC does suck!
I also love Flash Forward and Heroes. I think it really hurts your ratings when you take long breaks in between seasons which causes the hype of a good show to die down. People do find other shows or things to occupy that time slot. I would not blame it all on the fans not carrying the show. I think the network has a responsibility to its viewers. I know your minds are made up but I really wish you would rethink pulling the shows. Flash Forward really made you think and pull episodes together like a puzzle. The concept story line was great. It will be interesting to see what the networks think is so wonderful to put in its place.
FLASHFORWARD was a GOOD Show. Thanks ABC for screwing us once again. Bring Flashforward back for another season and then end it, no loose ends, just everything solved. like a movie. LOST sucks, you guys clearly milked it for all it was worth.
I’m so upset by this..We look forward to Thursdays to see Flash Forward – it’s one of the greatest shows out there. This is total disappointment. Thanks for leaving us hanging ABC… once again, lost another great one!

There has been yet another BLACKOUT! In the minds of the people at ABC!!! I suppose having hot babes is a pre requisite for running programs these days. Finally a series comes along that is both intellectually stimulating yet has viewers at the edge of their seats and they decide to pull it. Used to be a big fan of ABC, but am totally DISAPPOINTED! Hey you FF FANS out there…LETS CAMPAIGN TO GET THE SHOW BACK ON!!!
You Suck ABC! Off the top of my head, here’s a list of shows that you sucked me into and then cancelled. FlashForward, The Unusuals, Life on Mars, Invasion, Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Daybreak. Seems like a good time to stop giving you chances to let me down and start watching another network.
This is the worst news. With Lost ending, FlashForward was going to become my new show. Not anymore thanks to ABC. Fans need to make some noise about this similar to Jericho on CBS, it worked and they brought it back
We stuck with you through the long wait over the winter just to have you rip this story away from us. LOYAL Fans are more important than cheesy shows that are watched by young people who don’t have the funds that your advertisers are looking to capture aka money to spend on their products. Lets keep in mine what happened to STAR TREK after CBS cancelled it, CBS lived to regret it to the tune of 100′s of BILLIONS of dollars. Star Trek is still shown on T.V. nightly. Is this truly a wise move for ABC? I think not.
WTF … Flashforward is the only good show to come out in the last year from ABC !!! Its thought provoking, original and exciting. Can a sensible network pickup Flashforward now … fark ABC.

Also many people at work that do also, and you are cancelling why? I think its BS, seriously, ABC, I hope you are reading your fan feedback and change your mind, you are losing faith among your viewers, why dont you go ahead and run reruns of desperate housewives and see how that works, wtf? wow
I enjoyed Flash Forward, but it’s just a TV show. I watch very little TV because I have a life and do not need TV or its advertisers. I am not influenced by TV advertisers and seldom if ever buy any of their products. Good luck ABC getting advertisers money for your next failure. BTW your liberal biased news shows are also failures except to the mindless lemmings who foolishly believe what you present.
I love FlashFlorward!!! That was the only show that I watched on a weekly basis. I usually had to DVR it because Thursday nights I’m usually helping my kids study for tests. Why not just move it to a different night or something but don’t cancel it!! I agree with the other comments. I am sick of reality shows also and Flashforward was a show that actually had a unique and interesting story line. So disappointed!

That is annoying! i really enjoyed Flashforward, so they cancel a good show on bad ratings? why not cancel the marketing department who has no idea how to promote a great show!
The ratings system is screwed. How do they account for all their online viewers? I don’t own a TV and I watch everything online. I loved flashforward! Enough to actually wait to watch it every week despite the availability of bazillions of shows I can watch entire seasons of at a time. Enough to actually make a comment here, which I never do.

I love Flashward! Hate to see it go. This is one of the few programs that I watch now a days. There is just not any more good programs on TV. We have a group of followers at work that get together and watch the new episodes on Fridays during our lunch hour on a PC. We love it! We all try to figure out what will be happening next. It is so much fun. We age in range 24-51. We will truly miss this show.
Other than this show, I don’t watch ABC.
