Girls Performed Better in This Week’s American Idol

S 4 Mar 2010 American Idol 10 Girls Performed Better in This Weeks American IdolThe girls’ performance last week was quite a disappointment. It was like watching a whole group of people who were totally different from the girls who shone on stage during semi-finals. It must have been the lights or the crowd  but whatever it was that caused the jitters, obviously it was all gone as they seemed to be more at ease this week. This Tuesday, the girls looked like they were just having fun on stage.

But despite the great performances by most of the girls, the judges weren’t really impressed. Those who have been following American Idol ever since it started would know that judges’ comments are most often confusing. A large percentage of the girls really gave it their best this week which should be a cause for alarm for the guys.

Crystal Bowersox is definitely holding on to her position as front-runner with a smooth and confident rendition of “Long As I Can See the Light” by American rock band Credence Clearwater Revival. It was impressive how calm and healthy she looked considering that she was just one day out of the hospital. Lilly Scott impressed the judges with her own version of Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come”. She definitely got the judges raving about how unique she was. Katelyn Epperly was lovely behind the piano although judge Ellen DeGeneres found her performance quite dull and made people feel sleepy.

Michelle Belamor was quite okay with her rendition of “Arms Wide Open” although she wowed the judges with her outfit. Haley Vaughn’s lisp was so distracting as she sang “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus which caused Simon to say his “complete and utter mess” line. Didi Benami didn’t quite maximize her amazing vocals as she tried to give a gospel twist to the classic song “Lean On Me”.

So who is going to be voted out this week?
