Former Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala Dies At 86
Former Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala passed away in Khatmandu announced the state TV. The great leader was an inspiration for many and his supporters along with his country, supported him in every cause. Served as Prime Minister for four terms, a member of Nepali Congress Party, Koirala was a man of his rules. He was the man who led protests to bring down King Gyanendra authoritarian rule.
After the announcement, supporters started to gather outside his daughter’s house where he was shifted from the hospital after being there for several days. Koirala’s close aide Bal Krishna Khad confirmed the death of the great leader who passed away at the age of 86.
A close source revealed that the condition of the great leader worsened in the morning after he suffered from diarrhea. Koirala was unconscious since morning and wasn’t responding. He was being kept on ventilator round-the-clock and a number of doctors were attending the great leader. Koirala also had low hemoglobin level while suffering from bronchitis and lungs problem.
Top leaders including Prachanda and Jhalanath Khanal visited the residence to enquire about his health.
