I originally purchased this book as a gift, thinking it was too “babyish” for my 2 1/2 yr. old. But he saw it and loved it! The words are so simple to read and understand that it has become a great learning tool as he begins to focus on the letters and sounds of words. Great pictures and great ideas. It’s really helped him understand how, when and why to say things like “excuse me or thank you.”

This is one of two board books by Karen Zatz we bought for our 12 month old baby. The book is very easy to read with short questions like “You burped, what do you say”? When you open the flap there is a bright, fun picture & the words “Excuse Me” written inside. My child loves to be read to & responded well to this book at a young age.

Very cute children’s book that teaches manners! This was an important purchase for me as I would like to instill good manners in my son & this book demonstrates appropriate situations for these manners to be tested out on. Great pictures as well.

our 20 month old daughter LOVES the Karen Katz “lift the flap” books, and this one was no exception, EXCEPT that this book is physically cheaper quality and less robust – after only about 2 weeks, this one was pretty much destroyed. It’s much less robust than “where’s baby’s mommy” and “where’s baby’s bellybutton”, our other two Karen Katz books.

I bought this book with very low expectations. My kids have asked to read it a zillion times already. They find great humor in some of the pages, but the point of using your manners is certainly getting across.

I was looking for a special book for my new granddaughter. Something to start a tradition with, this was the first of many. It is better then the picture. I am very pleased and will continue to order from this author.

Our twin daughters had just turned 3 when we got them this book. This book will make a nice beginning reader for when the girls get to that age. It is a very high quality hard cover book with a ribbon for marking your place, all at a very low price for what you are getting. The cover art work is very appealing to my girls, and they ask me to read read read! We bought this along with several other Usborne books at our local independent children’s book seller in Minneapolis. This book has 5 stories in it, The Nutcracker, Town Mouse Country Mouse, The Snow Queen, Alice in Wonderland, and A Day at the Farm or something like that. I like that the art work is a little different from story to story, in the Young Reading series books we’ve gotten the three stories in each of those has the exact same art work and it makes it monotonous and makes not seem like they are separate stories, so the varied artwork from story to story in this book was nice. I also think they did a nice job of summarizing the stories presented so that they were not too long, too grown up, or too confusing. Definitely recommend.
