bolder boulder race results recap updates photo Ethiopian Bested More Than 50,000 Runners on Memorial Day More than 53,000 runners from all over the world participated in 2010 Bolder Boulder, Monday, May 31st. This is an annual event that needs pre-registration online to be eligible to join. This 10K race always falls on the last day of May as they celebrate the Memorial Day. First wave kicks of at 7:30AM. There are various trainings being offered before the actual event as this run is physically taxing. Each year, this event collects around $10 million for chosen charities and beneficiaries.

This year’s big winner is Ethiopia. Defending women’s champion Ethiopian Mamitu Daska clocked in 31:16 finish. Another Ethiopian spisit came in at second with the time of 31:58. Kenya’s Emily Chebet snatched the third place with 32:20 to prevent a three-peat.

Ethiopian men showed the world a different kind of brotherhood as they cross the line altogether to bag the first, second and third place. They went to the Folsom Stadium together and concluded the race hand in hand.

Slight decrease in this year’s Bolder Boulder was observed in comparison to 2008’s 54,040 registrants.
