Earthquake Hits West Mexico
7.2 magnitude earthquake rocked Western Mexico, Earthquake has hit the Mexican peninsula of Baja California, killing at least one person.
The quake occurred at 3.40 p. m PT in the Mexican state of Baja California, the area had been hit by 3.0 magnitude quakes all week. No major damages or any deaths were reported initially, but later Baja California’s director of civil protection said a man was killed when his house collapsed by the quake.
Rescue teams with search dogs and other equipments were sent, parking garage at Mexicali’s city hall also collapsed, but according to the director of civil protection no one was hurt. The earthquake made the buildings to shake on the west side of Los Angeles which interrupted Easter dinners. Though there are no reports of severe damages, it left a fear among the people living there and also some other parts who felt it.
Kyle Stockburger, in Los Angeles, said: “Everyone stopped talking in the restaurant and the overhead lights started swaying back and forth. It wasn’t violent, just unreal. It felt like the whole earth was swaying.”
