Earth Hour is a worldwide phenomenon organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature, a.k.a. World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The event is being held on the last Saturday of March. One week to go before the events will take place.

The event started in Sydney in 2007 where 2.2 million residents turned off all non-essential lights. This has been supported by the WWF. Cities and countries around the world adopted the event and also made the event a yearly practice.

It is, as it all started only in Sydney in 2007. Then in 2008, many cities around the world adopted practicing the event. It was in 2009 when participating cities have increased ten times than the Earth Hour 2008. Participants have increased from 400 cities to 4,088 cities as the event took place in 2009.

Earth Hour 2010 will take place on the last Saturday of today’s month, that would be March 27. This event will continue to be a worldwide practice and be a global call for every individual and every group to take action for the climate change.
