Carell Is Leaving “The Office”?
Michael Scott and Steve Carell indeed put up a good tandem in “The Office“. As Carell played as a clueless corporate management officer, he was able to earn so much money in real life. He earns $300,000 as an actor per episode and got his fourth Emmy nod for lead actor in the comedy show.
But now, Carell has to prepare for his exit interview after saying that he will be leaving the show to focus on his movie career. He did really good from his movie “Date Night” with Tina Fey and the voice behind the movie “Despicable Me”. On the 30th of July, he will be making another movie with his co-star in “40-Year-Old Virgin”, Paul Rudd for another comedy “Dinner for Schmucks”.
This decision made a lot of fans and even actors ask if he is really ready to leave Scott as Scott’s character paved the way for Carell to make his role shine and more noticeable in the show. Carell was the voice behind Gru, in “Despicable Me”, a super villain who cannot make his dependants respect him. From his film “40-Year-Old Virgin” through “Get Smart” and “Evan Almighty”, Carell was able to popularize a role of someone who experiences unfortunate events which became a work of art and worked well for Carell. According to senior writer Dave Karger of Entertainment Weekly, He was very good at playing roles of an awkward and unlucky hero which is undeniably lovable to watch.
