Be Careful of Android Phone Viruses
Mobile security firm Lookout warned the users of Android phones in Russia that a booby trapped movie player app is infecting Android phones. This new app contains virus which sends expensive messages. Russia-based lab Kaspersky discovered the malicious “Trojan” code which is hidden in this new media player app. People are obsesses with downloads on their smarphones these days, and according to a blog post made by Kaspersky,“The new malicious program penetrates smartphones running Android in the guise of a harmless media player application”.
System is used by Trojan to send SMS’s to some number which are premium numbers and cost lot of money. These messages are sent by Trojan but the owners of the phone are not aware of it. Money jut passes from the account of users to the cybercriminals. Android based smartphones are being used worldwide, but Trojan has affected the Android software only in Russia.
Lookout warned the users to be careful before downloading anything. After the discovery of Trojan, it is not safe to download anything without knowing it properly. This proves, technology not only brings attractive devices but number of risks and complications along with it.
