A million iPads: Sold!
A million iPads have already been sold just twenty-eight days after it went on sale in the United States. Apple is working hard to fulfill orders. The demand of consumers rises and they would have to wait a week or more to be able to buy these hot new tablets.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs stated that the iPad had a million sales within 28 days whereas the iPhone took 74 days to have such milestone. Jobs stated, “the demand continues to exceed supply and we are working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers”. The wait time for those who would want to purchase and have placed an order for an iPad from the online Apple Store would take about five to seven days as seen a the note on the store’s website.
Apple’s iPad is an all-purpose handheld device that is wonderful for reading, gaming and viewing images or videos. Its buyers have downloaded more than 12 million applications from the App Store and about 1.5 million e-books from Apple’s new iBookstore.
There are currently two versions of the iPad. The Wi-Fi only version features an 802.11 connectivity. The Wi-Fi with 3G version offers superfast data speed up to 7.2 mbps over 3G cellular networks around the globe. iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G is perfect in places with no access to Wi-Fi as it switches from Wi-Fi to 3G and vice versa when you get a connection available; thus, the prices for iPad with Wi-Fi and 3G are higher than the Wi-Fi only version.
