4 Richter scale Earthquake Shook Los Angeles, Alaska and Oregon
A 4.4 Richter scale earth quake shook parts of the US on Tuesday and media attention was on that only. But there are however reports from USGS that a slightly over 4 on Richter scale earthquake had hit over the areas of Los Angeles, Alaska and Oregon in the last two days. The USGS confirmed that they had been able to locate the earth 18.9 miles below the Pico Rivera California but this was not only the quake to hit the area over a scale of Richter 4 to hit the West Coast in the past two days.
There were more. A large earthquake of Richter scale 4.6 was located at Bandon, Oregon where there are over 2,800 people in the town and there was a quake too to hit few areas on March 15 that remained largely unreported. And Alaska alone had been the epicenter of almost 8 earthquakes in the past two days over 3 on Richter scale. And the largest earthquake was today that shook at 4.4 scale and the media got its eyes locked on it. After the shake it was located in Rampart, AK and that was above 4 on scale.
Los Angeles County Fire Department supervisor Andre Gougis told The Associated Press that the agency was reviewing the area, but had found no reports of instantaneous damage.
